Circular KeyKegs and UniKegs at the Dutch Beer Tasting Festival
The Dutch Beer Tasting Festival is the opening event of the Week of Dutch Beer and is organized by the trade association ‘Dutch Breweries'. The trade association worked with OneCircle so that all KeyKegs and UniKegs at the festival were collected and processed into raw materials for new kegs.
Karin Meijnen of the Dutch Brewers industry association: “We want to minimize the environmental impact of all festival activities. Together with OneCircle we bring the raw materials from KeyKegs and UniKegs back into the chain and make a rapidly growing part of our waste stream circular. We are happy to be able to work with this leader in sustainability."
Brewery ‘de Molen’ was one of the brewers at the festival. John Brus from Brewery ‘de Molen’: "For us, the KeyKegs and UniKegs are good packaging to deliver our beers to 35 countries around the world. The more they are subsequently recycled and even reincarnated as a new keg, the better of course! It's great that this has been possible during this festival."
This 8th edition of the Dutch Bier Tasting Festival took place on May 16, 17 and 18 in The Hague. For three days, 45 Dutch breweries presented more than 250 beers at the Dutch Beer Taste. A big church in Alkmaar was transformed into an attractive festival site.
